**Caldera High School Awarded $15,000 Grant for Makerspace Expansion**

Caldera High School’s Engineering and Manufacturing program has been awarded a $15,000 grant from SELCO Community Credit Union to enhance the school’s makerspace lab. The grant will be used to fund the completion and expansion of the lab, which is part of the Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing classroom led by teacher Ben Iverson.

The upgrade includes the addition of storage solutions, modifications for compressed air systems, and the acquisition of quality tools and equipment to work on bikes. Gavin Meyers, the Caldera Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator, applied for the grant and was present with his family during the surprise award presentation on December 13, 2023.

The improvements to the makerspace will support the school’s engineering and manufacturing programming by providing students with better resources and tools for hands-on learning. Work on the project is set to begin soon. Congratulations to Caldera High School on this achievement!
