Finger Lakes Winery Hosts 2025 Winemaker's Dinner

Red Newt Cellars Winery & Bistro in Hector, New York, is hosting its first Winemakers’ Dinner of 2025 on Friday, April 4 at 6 p.m. The event is held at the winery located in the Finger Lakes region. The dinner is priced at $125 per person, inclusive, plus tax. Wine Club members may attend for $100 per person, inclusive, plus tax.

The dinner menu includes a first course of roasted carrot and shallot soup with curry cream, paired with a 2018 Gewürztraminer from Curry Creek that was barrel fermented. The salad course features crispy Brussels sprouts with cranberries, bacon, and an apple cider vinaigrette, accompanied by a 2014 Pinot Gris from Curry Creek Vineyard. An intermezzo of cranberry-Riesling sorbet is served next.

For the main course, guests are offered bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin stuffed with apples, dried currants, and onion jam, served with Hellbender-balsamic reduction and crispy potatoes. This course is paired with a 2023 Cabernet Franc from Glacier Ridge Vineyard and a 2017 Riesling from Glacier Ridge Vineyard that was skin fermented. Dessert is Irish cream cheesecake, served with a 2017 Noble Dry Riesling from Tango Oaks.
