Festival Flamenco Albuquerque: Tradition Meets Innovation
In Albuquerque, the National Institute of Flamenco and the National Hispanic Cultural Center are presenting Festival Flamenco Albuquerque. The event includes a performance by Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía featuring the piece “Tierra Bendita.” The performance is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 8:30 p.m. at the NHCC in the Albuquerque Journal Theatre.
“Tierra Bendita” is a journey through the landscapes of Andalusia, the birthplace of flamenco. The production combines traditional elements with modern art by blending 18th‐century aesthetics with contemporary influences. The performance is directed by Patricia Guerrero, a recipient of Spain’s National Dance Award in 2021. It is presented by the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet and is designed as a multidisciplinary work that highlights both traditional structures and innovative reinterpretations.
Additional festival activities include workshops, classes, and other performances, with details available on the Festival Flamenco Albuquerque website. Tickets for the event are available at the NHCC website, with prices ranging from $69 to $129, and include a $4 fee.
