Seattle’s Urban Forestry Commission seeks youth voices
Seattle's Urban Forestry Commission needs youth voices. Applicants aged 18–29 can apply to the YMCA’s Get Engaged program for a chance to serve on City of Seattle government boards and commissions, including the Urban Forestry Commission. Applications are due by April 24, 2026.
Get Engaged places young adults ages 18–29 on City of Seattle boards and commissions each fall. Commissioners serve a one-year term as fully vested and voting members to help shape policy decisions, make recommendations and provide citizen participation in city government.
The YMCA’s Get Engaged program’s Y Social Impact Center offers additional support and training at monthly cohort meetings where participants have an opportunity to discuss strategies, share ideas and collaborate.
