**High Lakes Elementary Hosts Zero-Waste Community Event: Spaghetti and Stories**

Bend, Oregon – High Lakes Elementary School, part of the Bend-La Pine Schools, hosted a successful "Spaghetti and Stories" night in partnership with Deschutes County. The event brought together over 400 families for an evening focused on community, learning, and environmental sustainability.

Families shared a meal while enjoying student-authored writings and storytelling. Impressively, the event achieved zero waste, showcasing the school’s year-long commitment to sustainability, even beyond Earth Day.

The event highlights the school district’s dedication to fostering learning, connection, and environmentally friendly practices.
