**Cold Temperatures and Low Wind Chills Forecasted in Washington State**
Weather reports from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Seattle predict some of the coldest overnight temperatures of the year across Western Washington this week, potentially near record lows for early February. Northerly winds are expected to intensify the cold, causing wind chills to drop further.
According to the minimum wind chill forecast, areas like North Bend and Enumclaw are projected to experience some of the coldest conditions, with wind chills as low as 9°F and 10°F, respectively, on February 11th. Blaine and Bellingham will also feel the chill, with wind chills expected to dip as low as 11°F on the same day.
Other cities such as Aberdeen and Centralia are forecasted to have slightly warmer conditions but will still face wind chills ranging from 18-19°F at the start of the week. Meanwhile, Seattle’s forecast indicates wind chills dropping to 21°F on February 11th, increasing slightly as the week progresses, reaching 32°F on Valentine's Day (February 14th).
Coastal locations like Friday Harbor and Pt. Angeles can expect milder conditions compared to inland areas, with forecasted wind chills reaching lows of 20°F-24°F on February 11th. However, temperatures in these areas are also anticipated to increase by midweek.
The NWS advises residents to take precautions due to the prevailing wind patterns exacerbating the cold. "Bundle up and take extra precautions to stay warm," officials suggested in their latest update. Residents are encouraged to monitor updates and prepare for colder-than-usual conditions.
Stay safe and stay warm, Washington!
