**Bend Fire & Rescue Expands Services to Meet Rising Demand in 2024**
Bend Fire & Rescue in Bend, Oregon, reports a significant increase in the demand for emergency services in 2024. To address this growing need within Bend and the surrounding rural areas, the department expanded its resources, adding more firefighters and EMTs to its team.
This expansion was made possible by the recently renewed local option levy, approved by voters. With these additional personnel and resources, the department achieved its response time goals of under 6 minutes for city emergencies and under 9 minutes for rural emergencies.
