Bend Fire & Rescue responded to a home fire in Southeast Bend over the weekend. The fire department is reminding residents to consider fire safety when using heating sources during the winter months.

As temperatures fall, many people turn on wood or gas stoves and space heaters to stay warm. However, Bend Fire & Rescue notes that incidents involving home heating sources occur annually.

Residents are encouraged to be cautious about the placement of combustible items near heating sources and to keep such items safely stored away.

Bend Fire & Rescue urges everyone to prioritize safety this winter.
