Botanical Garden to Support Local Wildlife Planned

A new botanical garden is planned around the ponds in the Otisco Lake watershed, as announced by Willowdale Bend on its Facebook page. The garden will feature eco-friendly perennials designed to support local wildlife, including bees, butterflies, birds, and frogs. The soil will be enriched with compost made from manure from farm animals, seaweed sourced from Otisco Lake, and other natural food scraps and coffee grounds. The initiative aims to create a healthy environment without the use of pesticides or chemicals.
