SAISD officers donate more than $350 for food pantry

San Antonio ISD officers and executives contributed more than $350 to provide essential groceries for the SAISD Family and Community Engagement Department’s Food Pantry. The donors were Chief Reyes, Deputy Chief Olguin, Officer Lopez and Officer Ruiz.

The department described the donation as more than a simple transaction; it is a lifeline for the district’s most vulnerable families and a testament to the compassionate leadership within the department. By addressing food insecurity directly, the department said, officers are reinforcing the bond of trust and care between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they protect.

“This represents a call to service that transcends our daily duties,” Chief Reyes said. “It allows us to demonstrate to our community that we are deeply invested in their holistic wellness, not just their physical safety. It is truly a blessing to witness our officers leading with their hearts and doing what is best for our community at every level.”
