Scranton 5K to Honor Moran on April 11
SCRANTON, Pa. — The Scranton Half Marathon announced a 5K, back on Saturday, April 11, to honor Jim Moran, described as an integral member of the NEPA running community.
From managing countless races to organizing volunteers for the Steamtown Marathon, Moran has helped with the Scranton Half Marathon, organizers said.
The 5K is sponsored by Bender Private Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors.
The race kickoff is at 3 p.m. Registration is open through Sunday night, April 5, at 11:59 p.m. Sign up at scrantonhalf.com/register.

Arizona troopers seize 131 pounds of fentanyl near Gila Bend
A Highway Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle on Interstate 8 near Gila Bend on May 2, 2026, with help from the AZDPS Pinal Narcotics Unit, and seized about 131 pounds of fentanyl (95.7 pounds of pills and 35.4 pounds of powder) with an estimated street value of $511,000, arresting the driver on possession and transportation of a narcotic drug for sale.
