**House Fire Contained in Vacant Binghamton Property**

Binghamton, NY – Last night at 8:04 PM, Binghamton Fire responded to a call reporting a house fire at 6 Vine Street. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a boarded-up, vacant multi-family home with visible smoke and flames emanating from the basement and first floor.

Crews forced their way through boarded-up doors using specialized saws and initiated firefighting efforts while conducting primary searches throughout the structure. Within 20 minutes of the initial dispatch, firefighters managed to extinguish the main body of the fire. However, crews remained on-site to perform overhaul operations and address hot spots that had spread through the building's ductwork.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Binghamton Fire expressed their gratitude to the Binghamton Police Department, Superior Ambulance, and NYSEG for their assistance at the scene.
