Miss Piggy's Journey: From Struggle to Recovery

Staff Report / Bendlocal.org

Miss Piggy, a young piglet initially struggling for survival, was brought to Willowdale Bend after her arrival. She was the runt of her litter and required immediate veterinary care, receiving fluids to help her recover. Following her treatment, she spent several weeks in a home environment where she bonded with local dogs until she regained her strength.

After her recovery, Miss Piggy returned to her original surroundings, where she was cared for by Ruby, a Red Duroc pig, who had been feeling down after being separated from her family.

Research shows that pigs, like Miss Piggy, are intelligent animals capable of feeling a range of emotions similar to humans, including happiness, excitement, fear, and anxiety. They also have a remarkable ability to remember significant information over long periods.
