Plastic Hunter Tackles Microplastic Pollution Innovatively

Staff Report / syracuselocal.org

A new portable monitoring and remediation station called "The Plastic Hunter" has been developed to address microplastic pollution. This station is designed to accommodate up to 100 filters and is compatible with various sensors for different types of water monitoring. It features simple deployment, requiring no electricity or heavy labor.

The initiative is being led by Syracuse University alumni Nathaniel Banks ’18 and Yidian Liu ’18, who aim to create effective solutions to significant environmental challenges. They are focusing on practical research and innovative approaches to promote sustainability and tackle microplastic issues.
