Take Precautions Against Ticks This Hunting Season

Staff Report / FLXlocal.org

Cayuga County Health Department has advised residents to take precautions against ticks as the hunting season approaches. To protect yourself from ticks and tickborne illnesses, the department recommends several measures:

- Use EPA certified insect repellent while outdoors.

- Wear long sleeved shirts and long pants.

- Carry a tick removal kit with you.

- Check your body for ticks after being outside, and also check your pets.
