Arrest made in New Braunfels machete incident; victim released.

Detectives from the New Braunfels Police Department served an arrest warrant on Michael Martin Ochwat, aged 66, on 06-26-24 at about 2:00 pm. Ochwat was involved in a rolling disturbance and machete incident near North Market Avenue and East San Antonio Street in New Braunfels. He was taken into custody without issue and transported to Comal County Jail. Ochwat faces a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and a $50,000 bond was set for him. As of now, he remains in custody. The victim of the incident, a 55-year-old male from Canyon Lake, has been released from the hospital.
