Austin Resource Recovery Resumes Waste Collection Services
Staff Report / atxlocal.org
**Austin Resource Recovery Resumes Services Following Weather Suspension**
Austin Resource Recovery (ARR) will resume its trash, recycling, composting, and other waste collections on Wednesday, January 22, after a temporary suspension of services on Tuesday. The suspension affected trash, recycling, composting, and on-demand bulk and brush, as well as household hazardous waste collections.
ARR urges Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday customers to place their carts out by 5:30 a.m. on their respective scheduled collection days. Missed Monday and Tuesday collections will be prioritized and handled first. Due to the catch-up efforts, collection delays may occur, and customers are advised to leave uncollected carts and materials at the curb until crews can retrieve them throughout the week.
To stay informed about any further service changes, ARR customers can download the Austin Recycles app or sign up for service reminders at [austintexas.gov/myschedule](http://austintexas.gov/myschedule).
The Recycle and Reuse Drop-off Center will also reopen, accepting visitors by appointment only. Additionally, yard trimmings and large brush can be dropped off at Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant, located at 2210 FM 973, during normal business hours (8 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday through Saturday), as long as conditions permit.
Street sweeping and litter abatement operations in the Central Business District will resume at 12 a.m. on Wednesday, weather permitting. Crews will begin removing winter road treatments, including sand and gravel, as necessary.
Customers are encouraged to exercise patience as crews work to restore regular services safely and efficiently.
