Indianapolis Offers Christmas Tree Recycling Program

Staff Report /

**Indianapolis Offers Christmas Tree Mulching at Local Parks**

Residents of Indianapolis can recycle their real Christmas trees this holiday season through a mulching program organized by the Indianapolis Office of Sustainability in partnership with Indy Parks and Recreation. From December 25 through January 31, residents are encouraged to bring their trees to any of seven participating parks during daylight hours.

Drop-off locations include:

- **Ellenberger Park**

- **Garfield Park**

- **Northwestway Park**

- **Perry Park**

- **Riverside Park**

- **Sahm Park**

- **Riverwood Park**

All trees must be free of lights, ornaments, stands, and any other decorations prior to drop-off. This service is only available to Marion County residents.

The trees collected will be mulched by GreenCycle, a local recycling company, as part of an effort to promote sustainability and reduce waste. Thousands of trees are typically processed during this program every year.

For drop-off site details and addresses, visit [Indianapolis Christmas Tree Disposal](https://indy.gov/activity/christmas-tree-disposal).

This initiative is supported by the Indianapolis Department of Public Works and the City of Indianapolis Government.
