**Bend-La Pine Schools Announces Educational Options for 2025-2026**
Bend-La Pine Schools in Bend, Oregon, is reminding families to explore various educational options available for the 2025-2026 school year. The district offers several programs to meet students' individual needs and interests, including a Dual Immersion program in English and Spanish, Career Technical Education programs at all high schools, four magnet schools, and a K-12 online learning program.
Families can apply for these programs, collectively referred to as "Choice Options," between now and January 24, 2025, for students entering grades 1-12. Kindergarten and Dual Immersion program applications can be submitted until March 21, 2025. Selection into these programs is based on a lottery system.
In addition to Choice Options, families can submit Area Change Requests to allow their children to attend a school outside their designated attendance zone. The Priority Area Change Request window is open through January 24, 2025. Unlike the lottery system for Choice Options, Area Change Requests are decided based on factors such as student needs, available space, and program fit. Families will be notified about Priority Area Change Request decisions by the end of February 2025.
To participate in any of these options, students must be currently enrolled in Bend-La Pine Schools. Exceptions are made for Bend International School and Desert Sky Montessori charter schools. Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is now open.
