Students visit Boldt Castle and Tibbetts Point Lighthouse on trip.

Reviewed by Katherine Murphy / syracuselocal.org

Yesterday, Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School high school students went on an educational field trip to Boldt Castle located on one of the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River. The students had great weather for their visit and enjoyed a ferry ride to the castle. Once there, they explored the historical landmark and its scenic grounds, learning about its rich history from the early 1900s.

Following their time at Boldt Castle, the students headed to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse, situated where the St. Lawrence River meets Lake Ontario. They were given a history lesson about the lighthouse, which has been standing since 1827. This hands-on experience provided the students with a deeper understanding of the region's historical significance.

This outing is part of the school's initiative called Field Trip Fridays, which aims to provide students with engaging and educational experiences outside of the classroom. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures to come!
