Leave fireworks to pros this Fourth of July, Bend urges

Reviewed by Todd Vandersline / Bendlocal.org

Bend Fire & Rescue in Bend, Oregon is urging the community to leave fireworks to professionals this Fourth of July. In past years, the fire department has had to respond to multiple fires caused by fireworks, all of which could have been prevented if laws were respected and safety measures were followed. Instead of risking harm to homes and neighborhoods, residents are encouraged to attend the professionally managed fireworks show at Pilot Butte on July 4. More information on the event and reporting illegal fireworks can be found on bendoregon.gov/fireworks.
